July 4, 1972: The Civil Aviation Department (DAC), Organization of the Ministry of Aeronautics, through Ordinance 90, authorized the start of operation of the company Tropical Táxi Aéreo Ltda (name before Helisul).
October 5, 1972: Effective start of activities of Tropical Táxi Aéreo Ltda. The company was founded by Tropical Hotels, with the purpose of supporting tourism in the area of the Iguaçu Falls - PR. It operated one helicopter located at the front of Hotel Cataratas.
March 17, 1976: The Civil Aviation Department authorized the change of the name to Helisul Táxi Aéreo Ltda. It initially operated in a small hangar at Rodovia das Cataratas, close to the Foz do Iguaçu airport - PR.
Purchase of the shareholding control of Helisul by the Biesuz family, where Commanders Eloy and Celso Biesuz started managing the company.
The first flights started at the International Airport of Foz do Iguaçu. However, due to the large movement of passengers and large aircrafts, it proved unsuitable for the operation of helicopters due to not having a specific area for such, as well as an infrastructure for the arrival and departure room for passengers independent from the other flight operations.

July 1986: Inaugurated the first Helisul Táxi Aéreo branch in the city of Curitiba-PR
Start of the construction of the new head quarters at Foz do Iguaçu-PR.
October 1991: Inaugurated the second branch of the company in the city of Rio de Janeiro-RJ.
8/1991 to 4/1992: Fight against cholera operations in the Amazon region. Flying over 4,500 hours to transport the sick, medical teams, medications, laboratory equipments at the service of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Ministry of Health.
1991 and 1992: 800 flight hours at the service of IBAMA-DF for control and inspection of deforestations, irregular burnings and other environmental damages in the Amazon.
Inaugurated the third branch of the company at the airport of the city of Florianópolis-SC.
May 16, 1994: Founded the Helisul Linhas Aéreas S/A, holding the title of first airline company of the State of Paraná.
It has regular flights from the capital to the cities of Cascavel, Francisco Beltrão, Pato Branco, Guarapuava as well as to the cities of Blumenau, Joaçaba, Chapecó, Concórdia and São Miguel do Oeste (SC) and São Paulo (SP).
Purchase of the first Helicopter, model 206 L Long Ranger IV by Helisul directly from the manufacturer Bell Helicopter in USA.
1999 to 2002: Approximately 6,000 flight hours for inspection, localization, control and combat services against illegal burnings and forest fires with the bambi bucket equipment, transport of firefighters and brigadiers in the Amazon region at the service of IBAMA/PROARCO/PNUD.
July 2003: Inaugurated a unit of Helisul in the city of Manaus-AM
Purchase of an MD-600N helicopter.
Purchase of 2 helicopters, of which the model of one is EC 130 B4 of Helibrás – Airbus Helicopters and the other Robinson R44.
July 2010:Inaugurated the fourth branch of the company in the city of Brasília-FD.
Purchase of 3 Bell helicopters, two 206 L4 and one 206 B3.
Purchase of 3 Airbus Helicopters, models AS 350 B2.
Executed the USA – Brazil travel service.
Purchase of two 206 L Long Ranger IV helicopters. These were taken to the Curitiba Helisul Base from the United States.
Purchase of the LearJet 45 jet plane from the manufacturer BOMBARDIER to shorten the long distances through the charter and aeromedical transport services.
The inclusion of this plane puts our aeromedical services in a differential condition, enabling Helisul to provide services in all the countries of the AMERICAS.

July 20, 1972: Publication in the Federal Official Gazette no. 6484 about the start of Tropical’s activities.
Aerial transport services executed for the inspection of the electric power plant, lake and biological reserves at the service of ITAIPÚ BINACIONAL.
Studies were initiated based on this necessity in order to build a helicopter that offered the best safety and comfort conditions to tourists, with the lowest operating cost in order to make the price of the tour feasible.
April 4, 1984: Through ordinance no. 17, the fifth Regional Aerial Command of the Ministry of Aeronautics authorized the registration of the helipad called Helisul II, located at the margins of the Iguaçu River, in front of Tropical Hotel. Various types of environmental impact surveys and studies were required and conducted, reaching the unanimous conclusion that the helicopter flight in the Cataratas will not damage the flora and fauna. On the contrary, it will contribute with great benefits to the tourism of the city and its community.
The company has 4 Bandeirante airplanes and has of approximately 100 employees.
June 1996: Sale of the operating lines by Helisul Linhas Aéreas to the company TAM.
6/1996 to 1/2001: Rendering of cargo and passenger aerial transport services through helicopters in support of the seismic prospection works, under the responsibility of CGG, at the onshore basins of the Amazon region for PETROBRÁS, in a total of 17,347 hours.
2004 / 2006: Purchase of two AS 350 B2 helicopters from Helibrás - Airbus Helicopters.
A strategic change was made in January. Coming from the general administration of Helisul Táxi Aéreo, from the city of Foz do Iguaçu to Curitiba.
Purchase of 3 helicopters, of which two are of the model BELL (206 L4) and one is Robinson R44.
Inaugurated the new base of the third branch of the company in the city São José-SC.
Start of the physical structuring of the aeromedical transport facilities in the Curitiba base. Purchase of state-of-the-art and high technology materials and equipments in the domestic and international market.
